corroded-dreams:

She calls you Yuki and it makes you laugh for some reason, but you sit down nonetheless. The sudden movement and laughter irritates your throat and you start coughing again, leaning against the wall.

Eventually you stop and your throat’s raw, but it’s been worse so you’ll take this. You wipe your mouth clean of blood.

I’m fine, Nanami. I’m fine.

The laughter catches her off guard and she’s reminded of the brief description of kaibutsu she had been given. Her fins flare slowly and she finds herself growling before she can stop herself, which she does as soon as she notices that she’s doing it.

y-yuki…

you don’t look fine…

She growls and it makes your heart sink, but you laugh again despite yourself, drooling a little bit of blood. Your hands twitch and you wipe the bloody drool away.

I. I’m fine, okay? Don’t worry about me.

You try to pull yourself up, but you can’t, so you just stay sitting down, looking away from Oreko.

r-right…

Her fins tremble and twitch as she tries to get them to lay flat. Try as she might, they stay flared and alert. She’d go and comfort Sabi, but something compels her to stay back.

is there any way i can help?

You’re glad she didn’t notice your reaction. You just shrug and look away awkwardly.

Probably not, yeah.

More important than you could realize.

You cough into your arm, trying not to be appear disconcerted when your arm gets smeared with blood.

Yeah. It is.

She frowns when Sabi coughs, and it only deepens when she notices blood.

oh no, yuki…

maybe you should sit down or something

Green eyes blink up at Sabitsuki, wide and worried and full of concern.

birthmarks don’t get all bulgy and gross, genius

She snorts indignantly. She’s not that dumb.

but really it’s such a weird thing you’d think i’d remember getting it wouldn’t you?

She tugs her sweatshirt up, exposing her stomach and the almost circular patch of knotted flesh on it.

You frown at her. That was unnecessarily rude.

Okay, okay. It’s not like I knew what it looked like anywa -

You freeze when you see it, a jagged circular patch of scar tissue, and the memories of holding her with your broken pipe rolling away come back. Of her lying there and bleeding with your pipe lodged in her stomach.

You have to bite down on your lip to stop yourself from saying anymore than you should.

Uh, yeah. That’s weird.

She huffs, letting her sweatshirt drop back down.

A scar…? Where..?

Maybe it’s a birthmark or something..?

dark starter sentences

some yandere, some angst, some rivalry, but no happy stuff on this list:

“You actually thought I cared about you?”
“I wonder how loudly I can make you scream in agony?”
“You’re a monster!”
“It would be a shame if i had to damage that pretty face of yours.”
“You’re all mine now.”
“How could you do this to me!?”
“I trusted you!”
“Is that supposed to scare me?”
“Put the knife down.”
“You’re scaring me…”
“You look so sexy when you’re all bloodied and bruised like that~”
“I wonder how many volts it would take to kill you?”
“Why are you pointing that gun at me?”
“Let me go!”
“You’re so cute when you struggle like that~”
“Your blood smells wonderful.”
“Who did this to you?”
“You’re in my way.”
“I thought you were dead!”
“Help me!”
“Long live the king.”
“What did they do to you?”
“What have you done?”
“Maybe I should carve a pretty picture in your flesh?”
“Don’t worry, I won’t do anything fatal, I just need some information.”
“I don’t care what you do to me, I’ll never tell you!”
“Stop it, you’re hurting me!”
“They’ll kill you!”
“I hate you.”
“The only reason I chained you up is to show you how much I love you!”
“If you keep struggling like that I’ll have to punish you~”

Uh. Thanks.

It’s a bit empty, but.

You sit down on your chair and spin a bit, watching Oreko rest.

Sorry about that, Na - Oreko.. All the smoke.

pfft, my place is way emptier

if i didn’t have the machine it would just be full of a bunch of junk

Noticing how she hesitated on her name, she turns her head to look at Sabi.

nanami? you can still call me that, you know

She smiles reassuringly.

and that’s ok, i wouldn’t want to have missed that just because my lungs suck

…That’s true, I guess.

You should get more things to fill it up.

Like maybe flowers from the garden or something.

You nod and let out a breath.

Okay. Nanami.

Saying her name brings back a lot of old memories.

..Yeah. Still. You should get some rest. Let your lungs get a bit better.

This may not be the best place for that.

that’s a good idea! can the flowers live underwater?

Being called by her real name feels strange, but it’s a good strange. She grins.

it’s alright i’ll be fine

the only way to make them any stronger is to breathe real air anyway

…Something else, yeah. I don’t know who’d name their kid Smile.

You nod and activate your arms effect, waving goodbye to little you, who turns invisible at the sight of all your arms and runs off into the snow. You sigh before transporting the two of you two the Nexus, where you bring Oreko inside your room.

It’s sparse and mostly empty, but whatever.

Uh. Here we are.

She hugs the younger Sabi and whispers “thank you” to her just before the real Sabi transforms and transports them.

Upon arriving in Sabi’s room, she promptly flops down on her bed.

it’s nice here

dry, but nice

Uh. Thanks.
